Final Fantasy XIV

During the Letter of the Producer Live XII that was streamed on Youtube yesterday it was announced that the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released worldwide on 14 April 2014. The beta test will launch worldwide on 22 February 2014 (the day the PlayStation 4 is launched in Japan). Also for this version a collector's editon will be available and will feature two new in-game items: A Fat Chocobo mount and a Wind-up Moogle! Don't worry if you already own the PC or PS3 collector's editon. All previous owners will receive these items for free.

Final Fantasy XIV

Today the first major patch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has gone live! Version 2.1, named A Realm Awoken, introduces large-scale additions and refinements made to Eorzea. Square Enix has provided a 10 minute long video introducing area's like the Crystal Tower (for an alliance of 24 players), PvP Arena, a housing system for free companies and rebalanced job actions.

Sony

North America already got the PlayStation 4 on 15 November and Sony sold 1 Million consoles in 24 hours and last Friday us Europeans can also get Sony's new console! Some gameshops were open at midnight for lucky gamers who preordered the console months ago, since it has already been sold out. The MediaMarkt in Germany didn't really do that and it was first come first served as you can see in the below video.

Final Fantasy XIV

On a press conference held by Sony today the release date of the PlayStation 4 was announced for Japan which will be 22 February 2014. This is the first time that Japan, home of PlayStation, will get the system 3 months after the United States and Europe.

Square Enix has announced that starting on that day the beta tests of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for the PlayStation 4 will begin. Also players who are currently playing the PlayStation 3 version can switch to the PlayStation 4 version for free.

Sony

During the PlayStation gamescom 2013 press conference in Cologne Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 will be released in North America on 15 November and Europe will get it 2 weeks later on 29 November. Sony expects to launch the PlayStation 4 in 32 countries this holiday season. They also revealed that already 1,000,000 preorders have been made.

During the press conference Sony did also announce a price drop for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita which will be available for €199 / $199 each.

Square Enix

The E3 2013 has ended a couple of days ago and man what an announcements have been made by Square Enix and other companies. Here's a wrap up of this years E3 with the big announcements Square Enix made.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
Square Enix's total rebuild MMORPG will also be released on the PlayStation 4 in 2014. A new trailer and gameplay footage has been released and three new classes have been announced: Arcanist, Scholar and Summoner. Beta Phase 3 has just started last Friday and for the first time PlayStation 3 owners can participate.

Final Fantasy XV
Rumors were spreading for months, but it finally was officially announced at Sony's press conference. Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been renamed to Final Fantasy XV and will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and is no longer exclusive anymore. New footage was released and at Square Enix Presents Tetsuya Nomura said that 1 to 2 years after the annoucement of Final Fantasy Versus XIII (that was back in 2006) there were long discussions of renaming the game to Final Fantasy XV, because of the scale and concept of the game.

Kingdom Hearts III
First footage was seen of Kingdom Hearts III showing a mature Sora on Destiny Islands and in Twilight Town fighting a horde of heartless. The game is in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Final Fantasy XIV

At the 'Future of Final Fantasy' event Square Enix has announced that their MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released on PlayStation 4 next year. Accounts can be transfered from the PlayStation 3 version to PlayStation 4 version when it is released.

Square Enix has also released the E3 trailer of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn called 'Crystal's Call'.

Kingdom Hearts III

The moment a lot of fans have awaiting for is finally here! After the new trailer that showed that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be re-branded to Final Fantasy XV, Tetsuya Nomura showed a short teaser for an upcoming title. When the Disney Interactive logo was shown everybody knew it: Kingdom Hearts III is in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One!

Kingdom Hearts III reunites us with a mature Sora after the events of Kingdom Hearts II. Having learned that all the conflicts surrounding “Kingdom Hearts” were a part of Master Xehanort’s master plan to cause a Keyblade War, Sora and his friends search for the seven guardians of light to combat the darkness.

While King Mickey and Riku set off in search of previous Keyblade wielders, Sora, Donald and Goofy visit various Disney worlds in search of the “Key to Return Hearts.”

Final Fantasy XV

After months of rumor it's finally official! Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been re-branded to Final Fantasy XV! During Sony's E3 press conference that was showed previous night, Tetsuya Nomura, director of the game, had a video message showing the new trailer of Final Fantasy XV and said that more game details will be announced in the upcoming days.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII was originally announced as an exclusive PlayStation 3 game back in 2006, but is not an exclusive game for the PlayStation 4 anymore. It will also be released on the Xbox One. A release date has not been announced, but according to Square Enix the game is not expected this financial year (ending 31 March 2014).

Square Enix

You already might know this probably: Yesterday Sony announced the PlayStation 4 on their press conference in New York that was available for live streaming. The console itself was not shown, but they did show the DualShock 4 controller which will feature a touchpad and a bunch of new games that are currently in development.

Luminous Studio on PlayStation 4

Square Enix also made its appearance at the press conference. Yoshihisa Hashimoto, chief technology officer at Square Enix Japan, showed the Luminous Studio engine running on the PlayStation 4. It was the same tech demo as shown on the E3 previous year. After that Shinji Hashimoto took the floor and told that a new Final Fantasy game is in development for the PlayStation 4 and details will be announced at the E3.
