Today Square Enix has announced that a remake of Secret of Mana will be released on 15 February 2018 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Steam.

The remake will feature 3D graphics, Japanese voices, a new arranged soundtrack and local multiplayer where you can play the game with 2 other friends. Players who pre-order the game in the PlayStation Store will receive special character costumes: “Moogle Suit” for Randi, Primm and Popoi, “Tiger Two-Piece” for Primm and “Tiger Suit” for Randi and Popoi, as well as three avatars. Those who pre-purchase the game, or purchase the Day 1 Edition within one week of the launch on Steam, will receive the three costumes as well as a downloadable wallpaper. The remake will be available digital only for $ 39.99 / £ 29.99 / € 39.99.

Secret of Mana remake

Originally released as Seiken Densetsu 2 in Japan for the Super Famicom in 1993. In the west the game was known as Secret of Mana. In 2008 the original version was re-released on Wii's Virtual Console. In 2010 an enhanced port was released on iOS and Android in 2014.

Final Fantasy XV

Ubisoft has announced today that they've collaborated with Square Enix to bring Assassin's Creed to Final Fantasy XV. Starting next week with the Final Fantasy XV: Assassin’s Festival.

The collaboration kicks off on 30 August, as Final Fantasy XV players who have obtained the Dream Egg from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event will be gifted a very familiar Assassin outfit for Noctis. The very next day, 31August, will be the release of the free Assassin’s Festival DLC for Final Fantasy XV. The town of Lestallum will transform itself for the event with signs and banners signaling the arrival of the festival, and new activities will be available for players to participate in. It doesn’t end there. The Assassin’s Festival will have some additional themed items and features, including another outfit from Assassin’s Creed, along with abilities that enable Noctis to explore more like an Assassin and even use some of the Assassins’ more well-known abilities.

Final Fantasy XV: Assassin’s Festival DLC will be available for free and can be download from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store and will last till 31 January 2018.

Final Fantasy XV

During the gamescom press conference of Nvidia Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XV will be released on PC in early 2018. After the game has been released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 29 November 2016, received several updates and DLC, this version is called Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition.

The Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition will feature Nvidia GameWorks, a criticized middleware suite of software to optimilize graphics. Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV said the following:

With the help of NVIDIA, we are creating a stunning visual experience in Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition, one worthy of this beloved franchise. “NVIDIA pushes the pace of innovation in our industry, and that benefits gamers and developers alike.

The PC will feature content from free updates for the console versions as well as paid downloadable content originally available through the Season Pass. Players can also explore the world of Eos through Noctis's eyes in an all-new first-person mode.

Final Fantasy XV

From today till 8 August you can join the closed online test for the Final Fantasy XV multiplayer expansion Comrades.

Players will be able to create their own custom avatars and join up to three friends to participate in multiplayer quests to bring the Light back to the Kingdom of Lucis. Players will also be able to interact with friends through voice chat and preset chat messages.

The closed online test requires a Season Pass and a subscription to PlayStation Plus or an Xbox Live Gold membership. You can download the DLC from the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live (search for FFXV). Square Enix provided no information when the full version will be available. Only that it can be bought separately.

Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix has released the July 2017 update (version 1.13) for Final Fantasy XV which features some cool new features.

Magitek Exosuits
Granting 30 minutes of invincibility per day for Noctis, Gladio, Prompto and Ignis to help players take on the dangerous creatures of Eos. Once invincibility has worn off, players can continue to wear the exosuits in-game.

When the Magitek Exosuits where announced back in January, Square Enix has been contacted by the owners of the Power Rangers and they had to delay the feature to redesign the suits.

"O Partner, My Partner"
"O Partner, My Partner" is a new quest that can be accepted from the Meldacio Hunter HQ after the player has completed Chapter 8.

Cross Chain system
Allows players to severely damage strong, defensive enemies by increasing the number of linked attacks. The Cross Chain system is available once players acquire the two Royal Arms: the Sword of the Wise and Axe of the Conqueror.

The Cross Chain system was present in the demo Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae, but was scrapped from the final version of the game.

Moogle Chocobo Carnival
The Moogle Chocobo Carnival has returned and is available till late September. Players of all levels can once again journey to Altissia for limited-time-only mini-games, Chocobo water races and special Moogle Chocobo menu items at the Square Enix Café.
