Final Fantasy XIII

In an interview that Strategy Informer held with Daniel Erickson, Writing Director of BioWare (from games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins) they asked what his thoughts are about Final Fantasy XIII and according to him it's no RPG.

Well, before I address the main point I just want to take a slightly more controversial route: You can put a 'J' in front of it, but it's not an RPG. You don't make any choices, you don't create a character, you don't live your character... I don't know what those are - adventure games maybe? But they're not RPG's.

What are your thoughts about tbis?

Final Fantasy IX

Shinji Hashimoto has announced on his Twitter account that Final Fantasy IX will be released on PlayStation Network in Japan on 20 May. No price has been announced yet, but it will likely cost the same as VII and VIII.

On the American PlayStation Blog has been announced that Final Fantasy IX will be coming soon to PlayStation Network. Stay tuned to HHN for the release date and the European release date.

Square Enix

The remake of Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV for the Nintendo DS were positivity received by fans, but a lot of fans want Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI to be released on the Nintendo DS too. However Shinji Hashimoto tweeted that they are still considering remaking them.

"As for FF5 and 6, there are technical problems; presently these are also undecided."

This doesn't mean that the games aren't coming. It might be that Square is waiting for a new version of the Nintendo DS with increased power to be released.
