The gaming website IGN has released 13 screenshots of Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII of which 11 screenshots are available in high quality. They are really worth viewing.

Square Enix has announced that they will release Star Ocean: First Departure for the PlayStation Portable in Europe this October.

Star Ocean: First Departure is the enhanced remake of Star Ocean, which was originally released in 1996 on the Super Nintendo only in Japan. It's the first time the game is released in other territories. New features in this remake is the revised game engine, an improved battle system and new voice animated cut-scenes.

Sony

Sony has announced that they will launch a 160 GB PlayStation 3 model on 31st October in Europe and other PAL territories. This new module has twice the storage capacity of the 80 GB model that will be released this Friday. Also it will include a bundle of PlayStation Network content. However like previous models, this one will not be able to play PlayStation 2 games. The 160 GB PlayStation 3 model will be priced at €449.

A North American release is stated to be in November, however in a different form. It will be a limited edition with the game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and a voucher for the downloadable game Pain. It will be priced at $499.

Square Enix

Yesterday Square Enix has announced that the remake of Final Fantasy IV for the Nintendo DS will be released in Europe and other PAL-territories on the 5th of September.

Orginally released in 1991 on the Super Nintendo, Final Fantasy IV was the game that introduced the Active Time Battle (ATB) system, which was used in many Final Fantasy games after then.

John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. comments, “Final Fantasy IV is one of the most significant titles in the history of the Final Fantasy franchise. It has been remarkably enhanced for the Nintendo DS, making it a great opportunity for our fans to experience its deep story and ground-breaking battle system in an exciting and innovative new way”.

A couple of days ago two new magazine scans from the latest Shonen Jump has surfaced on the net. On both magazine you can find new screenshots of Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII.

Square Enix has confirmed that the Nintendo DS remake of Chrono Trigger will be released in Europe and other PAL territories in early 2009 and will only be a few weeks behind the US holiday launch.

This is the first time Chrono Trigger will be available in Europe. The Super Nintendo version and the PlayStation version never got there.

Chrono Trigger DS will feature touch screen controls, a new dungeon and wireless play.

On today's DKΣ3713 private party Square Enix has also announced that Final Fantasy Agito XIII and The 3rd Birthday (a Parasite Eve spin-off) will be released on the PlayStation Portable. Both games were mobile exclusives first, but seems Square Enix don't want that anymore.

During Square Enix's DKΣ3713 private party that was held today Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, the Blu-Ray version of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, will be released in Japan in March 2009.

As a big bonus the Blu-Ray disc will include a demo from Final Fantasy XIII for the PlayStation 3! Also exclusive trailers about Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be convered on the disc. A special PlayStation 3 pack with the movie will also be released around that time.

An American or European release hasn't been announced yet.
