The first three games in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series (Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III) are now available on PC via Steam and mobile devices. The other 3 classic titles, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI, will follow at a later date this year.
These versions contains the following upgrades:
Universally updated 2D pixel graphics redrawn for modern hardware, featuring iconic Final Fantasy character pixel designs created by the original artist and current collaborator, Kazuko Shibuya
Beautifully rearranged soundtracks, overseen by the original composer, Nobuo Uematsu
Improved gameplay, including modernized UI, auto-battle options, and more
Quality-of-life improvements including supplemental extras like the bestiary, illustration gallery, music player and the ability to save at any time
If you purchase Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II or Final Fantasy III by 11 August 2021 you'll receive a small music bonus, a couple of wallpapers and a 20% discount per title. You can also purchase a bundle which features all 6 games at a higher discount on Steam.
With this release the old versions of Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI have been de-listed from Steam. On mobile platform Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI have been de-listed. Players who purchased the games can still download and play them. However the versions will not be updated anymore.

Earlier today Square Enix streamed Square Enix Presents Summer Showcase. During the stream a new spinoff in the Final Fantasy series has been announced; Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. This action RPG is currently in developed in collaboration with Team Ninja, creators of Ninja Gaiden and Nioh.
You take the role of Jack who, along with allies Ash and Jed, sets off on a quest to defeat Chaos. Burning with resolve, and with memories of their struggle deep in their hearts, are they the foretold Warriors of Light?
Your journey will take you into a dark and challenging fantasy world, filled with iconic monsters from the Final Fantasy series. Fortunately, Jack isn’t exactly defenseless - he can use powerful spells and abilities from a range of jobs, including warrior, dragoon and black mage.
Square Enix has released a trail version on the PlayStation 5 that can now be downloaded; But don't wait too long. The trail version will be available until 24 June 14:59 GMT.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will release in 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.

Earlier today Square Enix has streamed Square Enix Presents Spring 2021. During the stream Square Enix has announced that Project Athia (working title) now has a final name: Forspoken.
Forspoken has been announced in June 2020 and is a narrative-driven adventure set in a beautiful yet cruel world. Play as Frey Holland, an ordinary young woman who must harness her magical abilities to survive in the fantastical yet dangerous land of Athia.
Forspoken is currently in development by Luminous Productions and will be released sometime in 2022 on PlayStation 5 and PC. You can watch the trailer below.

Square Enix has unvealed Endwalker, the fourth expansion for Final Fantasy XIV Online. This was unvealed during the first Final Fantasy XIV Announcement Showcase that was streamed yesterday. Due to the COVID-19 pandanmic, the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival can not take place. The showcase was hosed by Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV Online.
Endwalker features the climax of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story, in which Warriors of Light will encounter an even greater calamity than ever before as they travel to the far reaches of Hydaelyn and even to the moon. In addition to bringing the long-running story arc that began with A Realm Reborn to its conclusion, Endwalker will mark a new beginning for the beloved MMO, setting the stage for new adventures that longtime fans and new players can enjoy together.
The following new content and features were announced during the showcase:
Journey to Thavnair, the imperial capital of Garlemald, and even the Moon!

Also during the showcase the PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy XIV Online was announced, scheduled to launch into open beta on 13 April 2021. The PlayStation 5 version features a number of upgrades to the PlayStation 4 version like improved frame rates, faster load times and 4K resolution support. Players that have the PlayStation 4 version, may download the PlayStation 5 version free of charge at the start of the open beta period. The full version will be released at the end of the open beta period.

Recently Square Enix has released a demo of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC giving players, who want to try the game, 10 hours of content from the beginning of the game.
The demo showcases new features and quality of life improvements specific to the Definitive Edition, including the ability to speed up battles, Japanese and English audio, a symphonic soundtrack and a photo mode to capture the beautiful vistas as you roam the gorgeous landscape. This content merely scratches the surface of the new features that make up the full game which provides new character stories, an improved crafting system, and the option to play the entire game in 2D like a classic Dragon Quest game. Progress from the demo can be carried over to the full game when it releases on 4 December 2020. As an added bonus, players who complete the main scenario of the demo will receive three “Seed of Skill,” which grant players an extra skill point when consumed and can be used either in the demo or upon continuing their save progress in the full game.

Square Enix has recently announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, called Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition, will make its way to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 4 December 2020. This will be the first game from the Dragon Quest series that will be available on Xbox. The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age follows the perilous journey of a hunted Hero who must uncover the mystery of his fate with the aid of a charismatic cast of supporting characters. They embark on a quest taking them across continents and over vast oceans as they learn of an ominous threat facing the world.
This version includes the following upgrades and enhancements:
New character side stories – Get to know your fascinating cast of companions more than ever with individual side stories and adventures

During the PlayStation 5 The Future of Gaming Square Enix has revealed a new game from Luminous Productions called Project Athia (working title). This game will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Not much details have been revealed of the game except for an awesome looking trailer and a couple of screenshots .

The Final Fantasy XV journey has been concluded with the release of Episode Ardyn. Recently Square Enix has released an update for the PlayStation 4 version of Secret of Mana that updated the version to 1.02. The update will soon also be available for PlayStation Vita and PC version.
Here's the (huge) list of changes in this update:
Reduced the frequency of application errors
Fixed an error in which characters transition to a blacked-out screen
Fixed an error in which the character’s color changes
Fixed an error in which half of the screen goes dark
Fixed an error in which party members revived at zero HP
Fixed an error in which conversations would not finish on certain maps
Fixed an error in which players slipped through floors on maps that are two floors
Fixed an error that stops enemy movement when using a combination of some attacks and magic
Fixed bow and arrow behavior in battles against some monsters
Added a guide display for the switch button on the Ring Command screen
Added an icon for the character currently using a ring on the Ring Command screen
Added an item effect display for Item Rings and the Ring Command screen
Secret of Mana HD has been released previous month and has received mixed reviews. The game seems to be rushed which results in numerous bugs from game freezes, crashes and other show-stopping bugs.

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, which has been released for PlayStation 4 in July 2017, will be coming to PC via Steam on 1 February 2018.
The PC version will contain the following new features:
60FPS - Ivalice will look better than ever with the game running at 60FPS.
Compatible with 21:9 ultra-wide monitors - Up to three HD monitors can be used for a potential 48(16x3):9 experience.
New Game Plus and New Game Minus - Post-game content modes are now accessible from the beginning of the game.
Three background music options – The original, re-orchestrated and soundtrack versions are now available from the beginning of the game.
Maximized License Points and Gil - New functionality added to grant players max License Points and Gil from the configuration screen.
Full controller support, Steam Trading Cards and more to optimize the PC player experience.
Also a collector's edition has been announced that contains an official Collector’s Edition Steelbook with the original soundtrack, a five-piece Judge Masters Bust Set, six-card art set and a digital download code for the game.
Fans that purchase the game through Steam within the first week of launch will also receive a 20% discount, a three-track digital music compilation and a new Steam Skin illustrated by famed Final Fantasy artist Isamu Kamikokuryo.
