Final Fantasy VII Remake

With only a few weeks away of the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Square Enix has revealed a new video series called Inside Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Bringing together interviews with the game’s creators, artists and developers, the series gives an exclusive look at some of the secrets behind the development of Final Fantasy VII Remake - from the game’s story, characters, combat and action to its stunning music and spectacular visual design. The first video features insight from renowned developers including:

  • Yoshinori Kitase (Producer)
  • Tetsuya Nomura (Director & Concept Design)
  • Kazushige Nojima (Story & Scenario)
  • Naoki Hamaguchi (Co-Director – Game Design / Programming)
  • Motomu Toriyama (Co-Director – Scenario Design)

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Today, one day before the original release date, Square Enix has released the demo of Final Fantasy VII Remake worldwide for PlayStation 4 owners.

In this demo you can play the first chapter of Final Fantasy VII Remake, the bombing of Mako Reactor 1. The progress in demo can not be carried over to the full game.

You can download the demo from the PlayStation Store. Players who download the demo before 11 May 2020 will receive an exclusive PlayStation 4 theme when the full game launches.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be available on 10 April 2020 for PlayStation 4.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Square Enix has revealed a new trailer of Final Fantasy VII Remake featuring the theme song "Hollow" composed by Nobuo Uematsu, sung by Yosh (Survive Said the Prophet) and written by Kazushige Nojima.

In the trailer new footage is shown, like a young Cloud and Tifa in Nibelheim, Red XIII making his debut and Honeybee Inn with Cloud dressed like a girl.

There's also a behind-the-scenes video featuring interviews with Nobuo Uematsu and Yosh.

Square Enix has also announced that fans may experience the music of Final Fantasy VII Remake during the Orchestra World Tour in over 10 cities (like New York, London and Bangkok). Fans that are unable to attend, the soundtrack will be available early Summer 2020.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on PlayStation 4 on 10 April 2020.

Kingdom Hearts III

Almost one year after the release of Kingdom Hearts III the first downloadable content is now available on PlayStation 4 called Re Mind.

Determined to rescue Kairi, Sora travels to the Keyblade Graveyard a short time before the final battle was to take place. Lacking a corporeal form, he traces the hearts of the seven guardians of light. Through experiencing their personal battles firsthand, Sora is about to discover truths that he has never before imagined.

The Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC includes:

  • The additional story: Re Mind
  • Limitcut episode and 13 boss battles
  • Secret episode and boss battle
  • Data greeting feature
  • Slideshow feature
  • Premium menu (Diverse difficulty settings and gameplay challenges)

Square Enix has also released two free patch versions for Kingdom Hearts III: version 1.07 and 1.09.

  • You can turn in the Key Item “Proof of Promises” at the Moogle Shop to obtain the Keyblade “Oathkeeper.”
  • You can turn in the Key Item “Proof of Times Past” at the Moogle Shop to obtain the Keyblade “Oblivion.”
  • New forms have been added.
  • New abilities have been added.
  • Various menus have been updated.
  • Some cutscenes have been modified.
  • Various issues have been fixed.

The Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC package is now available in the PlayStation Store for $ 29.99 / £24.99 / € 29.99. Also there's a Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC package with the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World of Tres- video that was recorded in 30 November 2019 for $ 39.99 / £32.99 / € 39.99.

Xbox One owners have to wait till 25 February 2020.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake will not be released worldwide on 3 March 2020, but has been delayed to 10 April 2020.

Below is a message from the development team:

We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.

We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.

The games tracker on Gamstat, a page that lists every new addition to the PlayStation Store, has listed the demo of Final Fantasy VII Remake with the cover. The cover was later removed from playstation.net, but has been saved.

The demo has not been confirmed by Square Enix, but it seems to be coming. Will this be the same demo that was playable at multiple conferences (like E3 and gamescom)? Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on PlayStation 4 on 3 March 2020.

During The Game Awards 2019 that were held last night in Los Angeles Square Enix has revealed a new trailer of Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Kingdom Hearts III

During the latest PlayStation State of Play Square Enix has revealed a new trailer of Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind that was leaked earlier. The DLC will be available on 23 January 2020 for PlayStation 4 and 25 February 2020 for Xbox One.

Two versions of Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind will be available:

Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC:

  • The additional story: Re Mind

  • Slideshow feature

Also version 1.07, which will be available in January 2020 as a free patch update, will include a main story update, new abilities and a new form for Sora along with the addition of Keyblades, “Oathkeeper” and “Oblivion”. Players will also be able to utilize expanded sharing features from January.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

It is possible that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on other consoles and PC after 3 March 2021. The game will be released on 3 March 2020 on PlayStation 4 and it seems to be a timed exclusive.

Square Enix has updated the North American package art of Final Fantasy VII Remake which now includes a PlayStation Exclusive logo with a disclaimer below: Timed Exclusive untill 3/3/21.

The remake of Final Fantasy VII is in development for years and has been split into episodes. This first episode will take place in Midgar and will cover two Blu-ray discs.

Today Square Enix has released Star Ocean: First Departure R for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Star Ocean: First Departure R is a HD remaster of Star Ocean: First Departure released on the PlayStation Portable in 2008. The original version was released in 1996 on the Super Famicom, but never was released outside of Japan.

The HD remaster version contains the following features:

  • Full Voiceover – Players can choose between the original full voice cast from the PlayStation Portable version of the game in either Japanese or English, or the newly recorded version, featuring the Japanese voice cast from the original Super Famicom version, which was released in Japan only.
  • New Character Illustrations – Players can opt for the original character illustrations from Star Ocean First Departure, or brand-new versions drawn by the famous illustrator Katsumi Enami (Star Ocean The Last Hope)
  • Speed Mode – Players can traverse the world more swiftly.
  • Adjusted Game Balance – Adjusted battle difficulty enables players to experience more challenges in combat.
