Square Enix

Square Enix has announced that Europe will also get a Collector's Edition for Drakengard 3 that will be limited to 2,000 copies only and can only be purchased from the Square Enix Store. The Collector's Edition will be priced at € 69.99 and will contains the following items:

  • Clamshell Box
    An eloquent display case featuring the flower that grows from Zero’s eye.
  • Hardback Novella
    This beautifully illustrated 160 page prequel story to Drakengard 3 (available in English language only) contains a collection of short stories written from the perspectives of each character.
  • Add-on Pack
    Downloadable tokens for the Ciam costume, an additional level where you play as One, Zero’s sister, and a Giant Baby Hat (yes, an enormous baby’s head for your dragon, Mikhail).
  • Music Sampler CD
    A CD containing a selection of mesmerising tracks from the game’s original soundtrack, composed by Keiichi Okabe (who also created the score for Nier).
  • Double Sided Poster
    A collectable double sided poster only available in the Collector’s Edition of Drakengard 3.
  • The Game
    While there won’t be a physical disc version of the Drakengard 3 for Europe and PAL territories, a download token will be included inside the box which you can redeem on the PlayStation Store.
  • Japanese Voice DLC
    Experience the game in its original audio with a download token for the original Japanese voice acting! This DLC will also be available for non-CE owners.

It was earlier announced that Europe won't be getting a physical copy of Drakengard 3. So why this Collector's Edition for a lot of money (if you ask me) with a download voucher? We, fans want a physical copy.

Final Fantasy X

Today is the day that Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster has been released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in North America! Europe will follow this Friday. Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster will contain the international version of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 (with Last Mission) in HD with trophy support. North American fans can now for the first time fight against the Dark Aeons, Penance and use the Expert Shere Grid. Also Eternal Calm, a 14 minute video which is a bridge between Final Fantasy X and it's sequel Final Fantasy X-2, is included.

Square Enix has announced in the new trailer of Drakengard 3 that the game will be released in North America on 20 May and in Europe and other PAL territories a day later (on 21 May). Next to the physical copy of the game North America will receive a collector's edition and bonus items when pre-ordering the game. Europe will have to live with a digital download of the game only which disappoints a lot of fans. Since the PlayStation 3 is region free, European fans and fans in other PAL territories can import the North American version.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Square Enix has announced that they have released a demo of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII that can be downloaded from Xbox Games Store today and PlayStation Store. The demo takes place in the beginning of the game where you play as Lightning finding your old friend Snow in the city of Yusnaan. At the end of the demo you fight against the Zaltys boss and when you defeat them you can post your score to the Outerworld to unlock the Siegfried Garb in the full game. Outerworld is a feature that enables you to communicate with other players via social media.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

You can download the Xbox 360 demo from the Xbox Games Store (North America / Europe). The PlayStaton 3 demo for North American users can be downloaded here. In Europe it will be available tomorrow. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be available on 11 February in the North America and 14 February in Europe.

Final Fantasy XIV

Today the first major patch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has gone live! Version 2.1, named A Realm Awoken, introduces large-scale additions and refinements made to Eorzea. Square Enix has provided a 10 minute long video introducing area's like the Crystal Tower (for an alliance of 24 players), PvP Arena, a housing system for free companies and rebalanced job actions.

Final Fantasy X

While Japan is still getting Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster in 2013 (26 December), Square Enix has announced that the PlayStatuon 3 version will be released in North America on 18 March 2014 and in Europe and other PAL territories on 21 March 2014. The HD remake of FInal Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 was first stated to be released this winter, which seems to be delayed a bit. With this announcement they've also released a new trailer and they have revamped the limited edition.

Final Fantasy X

A few days ago Square Enix has finally announced that Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster will be available in Japan on 26 December 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita (sold seperately). Both games have been remastered in HD with updated textures and a remastered soundtrack.

Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster for the PlayStation 3 will be available for a retail price of 7,140 Yen and the downloadable version will cost 6,400 Yen. This version will include the FMV 'Eternal Calm', which was originally included with the game Unlimited Saga and on a demo disc.

For the PlayStation Vita both games are sold seperatly for 3,990 Yen each and the downloadable version will cost 3,660 Yen. You can also buy both games in the Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster Twin Pack for 7,140 Yen and the downloadable version will cost 6,400 Yen.

Also a special Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster PlayStation Vita will be available together with both games for 25,788 Yen.

It was already hanging in the air after Square Enix registered the domain name, but today they've confirmed that Drakengard 3 will be coming to North America and Europe in 2014 exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Drakengard 3 is a prequel to the original game which was released back in 2003 and marks the 10th anniversary of the Drakengard series. Takamasa Shiba will return as the producer of the game and Keichi Okabe will take care of the soundtrack.

In this hack and slash game you play as Zero, the eldest of six "Intoner" sisters who wield special magical abilities. Zero is on a quest to murder her five sisters with the help of her dragon companion, Mikhail.

Sadly Europe will only get a downloadable version.

Square Enix

Recently Square Enix Inc. has registered the domain name drakengardgame.com and this indicates that the action RPG Drakengard 3 (in Japan known as Drag-On Dragoon 3) will maybe be released in the United States and Europe. Japan will be able to get the game on 19 December.

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita (sold separately) will be launched worldwide this winter. They've also released the Tokyo Game Show 2013 trailer which can be viewed here.
