Recently Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be coming to PC. Yesterday they have announced that it will be released on Steam on 18 August.

The PC version will include the following features:

  • In-game battle camera;
  • Full Steam achievements and trading cards;
  • Scalable motion blur settings;
  • Customizable dynamic screen shot mode;
  • Full controller support;
  • Upgraded graphics resolution options (for high end PCs);
  • Increased blood levels;
  • New character speed boosts.

“Developing Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for Steam gave us the opportunity to fully realize our original vision of the game in an enhanced and refined experience exclusively for PC players,” said Director Hajime Tabata.

The PC version can be purchased on Steam for $ 29.99 / £ 19.99 / € 24.99. Fans who pre-order Final Fantasy Type-0 HD on Steam will receive next to the 10% discount, the Master Chocobo as your courier and Moogle (Class Zero) as your ward in DOTA 2, plus an exclusive Final Fantasy Type-0 HD loading screen.

Square Enix has recently announced their biggest line-up ever for Gamescom 2015 that will take place in Cologne, Germany from 5 to 9 August. Square Enix has 1,100 square meters of booth space featuring more than 200 hands-on stations for gamers eager to try out Square Enix’s upcoming releases. Their main booth is located in hall 9: B31/B41.

The following games are present:

  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Live theatre demonstrations (in German) in the Square Enix cinema;
  • Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below - playable;
  • Final Fantasy XIV: Heavenward - MMO fans are called to arms at the Final Fantasy XIV: Battle Arena (hall 9, C51), where gamers face-off against all the powerful primals (Ravana and Bismarck) featured in the game in order to win attractive prizes. Returning to comment on the Final Fantasy XIV action live are the experienced ESL commentators Mori, Hendrik and A1m.
  • Final Fantasy XV - Big stage of the booth. Visitors will be treated to a number of exciting stage presentations with many well-known guests and new insights into the much-awaited game – a few select fans will even get the chance to play Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae v2.0 at the booth.
  • Final Fantasy Type-0 HD - playable PC version;
  • Hitman - Live theatre demonstrations (in German) in the Square Enix cinema;
  • Hitman Go - playable;
  • Just Cause 3 - playable;
  • Life is Strange - playable;
  • Lara Croft: Relic Run - playable.

More information regarding the Final Fantasy XV stage schedule and more new announcements and reveals at Gamescom 2015 will be released in the coming weeks.

Final Fantasy XV

During Active Time Report page 6.0, that was streamed this afternoon, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata announced that Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae 2.0 patch will be available for download in the West next Tuesday 9 June.

This patch will feature graphical enhancements, more interactions and improvements to the framerate. These are a couple of reasons that the release of this patch was delayed several weeks. Japan will receive the patch tomorrow.

In a tweet Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be released on PC via Steam. Further details like a release date were not mentioned.

The PC version has been premiered at Computex Tapai 2015 today running on laptops (GS60 Red version and GS70 Silver version) from MSI. A quote from their news article:

FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 brings an immersive world, memorable characters and the production value known of the series, together with high quality gameplay and storytelling truly worthy of the FINAL FANTASY name.

Step into the fray as Class Zero, a group of students from an elite military academy whose country is attacked by an aggressive neighboring Empire. Also recently it was announced that Final Fantasy Agito, a free-to-play game set in the world of Final Fantasy Type-0, will also be released on PC via Windows 10.

Square Enix has released the last trailer of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which is the launch trailer. Only one night to go for us European fans. North America and Japan already got the game. When you purchase the first print of the game, you'll also receive a download code for Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae.

On the PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) East, which was held in Boston (United States) last weekend, Square Enix has revealed a new trailer of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. With only a week away from release, this might be one of the latest trailers of the game. Please mind that it can contain spoilers. Also footage from the Final Fantasy XV demo: Episode Discae is shown.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in North America on 17 March, in Japan on 19 March and Europe on 20 March.

Square Enix has released the final trailer for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. This trailer is in Japanese and if you don't want to get spoiled, I suggest don't watch it. But after the Final Fantasy Type-0 HD footage there's extended footage of the Final Fantasy XV demo: Episode Duscae, which contains new scenes.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in North America on 17 March, in Japan on 19 March and Europe on 20 March. Episode Duscae will be playable on release and can be download with a voucher.

Square Enix has announced that they will release a collector's edition along the standard version of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD this spring. This collector's edition has a price tag of $99.99/£79.99/€99.99 and will include the following items:

  • Golden Steelbook Case
    Featuring illustrations by world-renowned artist Yoshitaka Amano, this premium case holds both the game and soundtrack CD.

  • Composers's selections soundtrack
    Includes 15 tracks hand-picked by the game's composer, Takeharu Ishimoto.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be released in North America on 17 March 2015, in Japan on 19 March 2015 and in Europe on 20 March 2015.

Last Friday Square Enix Presents featured the first Active Time Report with the latest news and footage of games that are currently in development. The first report was dedicated to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Final Fantasy XV.

The stream starts of with Shinji Hashimoto greeting everybody welcome. After that a message from Hajime Tabata is showed where he apologies for the delay of Final Fantasy Agito+, the PlayStation Vita version of the original game which was originally scheduled for release on 15 January 2015.

Next item is Final Fantasy Type-0 HD where footage is shown about the characters with French text and English voices (footage shown on Paris Games Week).

For the Final Fantasy XV part of the stream Yasuyuki Matsunami, map director, and Yusuke Naora, art director, joins the stream to show exploration footage of Noctis and team through the Duscae region. Later also Tech Demo #1 is showed with the current build of Luminous Studio engine version 1.4.

The next Active Time Report will be streamed during Jump Festa which takes place on 20 and 21 December.
