On a press conference Square Enix said that Final Fantasy XIII will not be released this financial year (01/04/2007 - 31/03/2008). "The development lasts longer then originally was stated. It is impossible to release it in this financial year," Square Enix president Yoichi Wada commented.

So the game will not be released before April 2008 and it may take quite a while when the Europeans will get the game. Might be 2009...

On this moment there are two Final Fantasy XIII games and one mobile game announced. Now recently Motomu Toriyama of Square Enix has said that another console will make its entry in the series next to the PlayStation 3.
Rumors go to the Xbox 360, but it can also be that something will be available for the Nintendo DS, Wii or PSP.

We will keep you informed.

A Belgian games program called Gamepower showed a video about Final Fantasy XIII. The footage is from the Jump Festa trailer, which hopefully soon will be released by Square Enix. The video isn't really good quality, since it has been recorded from a TV. Thanks goes to wottervm for bringing it online.

In a brochure from Square Enix, which has only been released in Japan, a poster of Fablua Nova Crystallis is located. On that poster you can see a new female character under the Final Fantasy Agito XIII logo. Most likely this new female character will only be playable in this mobile game.
