Final Fantasy XIII-2

Corporation Service Company, who has claimed domain names for Square Enix in the past, has claimed finalfantasy13-2game.com a couple of days ago. This was detected and tweeted by supererogatory.

Will this be a direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII? Or is this just to save this domain name from being taken by others? Hopefully some information will be announced at Square Enix 1st Production Department Premier, which is due to take place next Tuesday.

Final Fantasy XIII

Square Enix has announced on the Xbox 360 Media Briefing 2010 in Tokyo that Final Fantasy XIII will still get a Xbox 360 version one year after the release on the PlayStation 3.

The 360 version will be called Final Fantasy XIII Ultimate Hits International and will feature English voices, subtitles, an 'easy mode' and a booklet called "Final Fantasy XIII Corridor of Memory". It will be released on 16 December.

Japanese fans are not really happy with this announcement and are calling Yoichi Wada a liar and he even received death threats.

Final Fantasy XIII

In an interview that Strategy Informer held with Daniel Erickson, Writing Director of BioWare (from games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins) they asked what his thoughts are about Final Fantasy XIII and according to him it's no RPG.

Well, before I address the main point I just want to take a slightly more controversial route: You can put a 'J' in front of it, but it's not an RPG. You don't make any choices, you don't create a character, you don't live your character... I don't know what those are - adventure games maybe? But they're not RPG's.

What are your thoughts about tbis?

Final Fanrtasy XIII has been received good by the public, although there are some fans who say the game is very lineair and some Final Fantasy elements are missing from the game.

It's the first Final Fantasy that has been released simultaneously on 2 consoles. If you have a HD television, you might prefer the PlayStation 3 version, since it's playable on 720p, while the Xbox 360 version is playable at 576p (which is for normal televisions).

So, go and get your copy of the game today and please give me your opinion at our Square Enix community.

There were some rumors going on about Final Fantasy XIII getting downloadable content, but a few days ago Square Enix has stated that they currently don't have any plans for DLC.

In an interview with producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama by PlayStation.Blog.US said the following:

"Regarding the DLC content, we feel that the final product is 100% enjoyable…it’s the complete package. So we’re not planning any DLC at this time. In regard to the rumored cut content, we feel it was taken out of context. There are a lot of ideas that are brought to the table, and then the team takes the best ideas out of those, and the final product is polished that way. There was content that were “ideas” that didn’t make the final content, but the team isn’t looking to release that as downloadable content."

If the company decides in the future to release DLC, we will let you know.
