Earlier this week a list containing a lot of unannounced games has been leaked from NVIDIA GeForce NOW servers by developer Ighor July. The list contains some interesting titles from Square Enix.

There are four unannounced Final Fantasy projects listed. According to the list two exclusive PlayStation titles, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy XVI will be released on PC. Also listed is Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster and Final Fantasy IX Remake.

Some other unannounced Square Enix titles in the list are Kingdom Hearts IV, Chrono Cross Remaster and Tactics Ogre Remaster. And Dragon Quest X Online/Offline which has never released outside of Japan.

NVIDIA has released a statement:

NVIDIA is aware of an unauthorized published game list, with both released and/or speculative titles, used only for internal tracking and testing. Inclusion on the list is neither confirmation nor an announcement of any game.

NVIDIA took immediate action to remove access to the list. No confidential game builds or personal information were exposed.

Is this list legit? I hope so.

During the PlayStation Showcase 2021 a new trailer has been revealed of Forspoken. Also it has been announced that the game will be releeased in Spring 2022.

In the introduction trailer Frey Holland is mysteriously taken from New York and trapped in the ancient land of Athia with a magical sentient bracelet on her arm. Her new, cynical companion "Cuff" helps Frey navigate the vast landscapes of Athia. Searching for a way home, Frey must battle monstrous creatures, take on the mighty Tantas, and unravel secrets that awaken many more from within.

Forspoken is an action RPG developed by Luminous Productions and will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Square Enix has announced that they will release Bravely Default II on Steam on 2 September 2021. The game was previously exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and was released on 26 February 2021. So far the game has sold more than 950,000 units (shipped and downloads).

Bravely Default II follows the adventures of four unlikely heroes, Seth, Gloria, Elvis, and Adelle, as they set out across the land of Excillant in search of four elemental crystals.

The Steam version will feature English and Japanese audio, and English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese text. Fans can save 10% by purchasing it on Steam till 13 September 2021.

Square Enix has announced that the pixel remaster version of Final Fantasy IV will be released on 8 September 2021 on Steam, Android and iOS devices.

This version will feature the following improvements compared to the original version:

  • Universally updated 2D pixel graphics redrawn for modern hardware, featuring iconic Final Fantasy character pixel designs created by the original artist and current collaborator, Kazuko Shibuya
  • Beautifully rearranged soundtracks, overseen by the original composer, Nobuo Uematsu
  • Improved gameplay, including updated controller controls, modernized UI, auto-battle options and more
  • Quality-of-life improvements including supplemental extras like the bestiary, illustration gallery, music player and the ability to save at any time

Steam users can now pre-order the game with 20% off and during that time you'll receive three specially rearranged music tracks and two limited wallpapers. You can also get the bundle which contains all 6 games with the bonus items. Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI will be added when they're available.

Square Enix has announced that the first three Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster titles are now available for pre-purchase on Steam individually or as a bundle, and will launch on 28 July 2021. One day later the first three Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster titles will also be released on mobile platforms. The other three titles will follow later this year.

The Steam pages for the six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster titles are online. The first three titles are on sale 20% off till 11 August 2021 and if you pre-purchase them you'll receive a small music bonus and a couple of wallpapers. Below you can view the screenshots and the link to the Steam pages.

The old Steam versions of Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI will be delisted on 27 July 2021. On Google Play all old versions will be delisted on 28 July 2021.

On 28 June 1991 Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden (outside of Japan known as Final Fantasy Adventure), the first game in the Mana series, was released on the Nintendo Game Boy. Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Mana series. During yesterday’s celebratory livestream from Japan Square Enix has revealed several new announcements.

A new entry in the Mana series is Echoes of Mana, a free-to-play action RPG developed by WFS coming to mobile devices worldwide in 2022. The game will feature new and existing characters from the Mana series. A teaser trailer can be watched below.

Last year, the 3D remake of Trials of Mana was released. Over 1 million units have been sold worldwide and now the game will also be available on Android and iOS devices on 15 July 2021.

Only mobile games? Well, there's another new entry in development at the moment. However Koichi Ishii said the game is still in early development and no information or footage could be shared.

Last week the remastered version of Legend of Mana has been released. During the livestream an anime series have been announced called Legend of Mana -The Teardrop Crystal-. It will be produced by Warner Bros. Japan LLC, Graphinica, Inc. and Yokohama Animation Lab and is planned to air worldwide.

Earlier today Square Enix streamed Square Enix Presents Summer Showcase. During the stream a new spinoff in the Final Fantasy series has been announced; Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. This action RPG is currently in developed in collaboration with Team Ninja, creators of Ninja Gaiden and Nioh.

You take the role of Jack who, along with allies Ash and Jed, sets off on a quest to defeat Chaos. Burning with resolve, and with memories of their struggle deep in their hearts, are they the foretold Warriors of Light?

Your journey will take you into a dark and challenging fantasy world, filled with iconic monsters from the Final Fantasy series. Fortunately, Jack isn’t exactly defenseless - he can use powerful spells and abilities from a range of jobs, including warrior, dragoon and black mage.

Square Enix has released a trail version on the PlayStation 5 that can now be downloaded; But don't wait too long. The trail version will be available until 24 June 14:59 GMT.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will release in 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.

Earlier today Square Enix streamed Square Enix Presents Summer Showcase. During the stream the company announced that the first six games in the Final Fantasy series will be remastered for Steam and mobile platforms.

The series will be known as the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series and the six games will be released individually. Only a teaser was revealed showing some footage from the remastered games.

During the Dragon Quest 35th anniversary livestream Square Enix has announced the next mainline entry in the Dragon Quest series: Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate. The game will use the Unreal Engine 5 and is in early stage of development and will have a global simultaneous release.

According to Yuji Horii, game designer of Dragon Quest, the player needs to make several decisions to determine the way of life. Also changes will be made to the command battle.

Also three other Dragon Quest titles have been announced during the livestream.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

A remake of Dragon Quest III, which was first released in 1988 on the Famicom, in the style of Octopath Traveler.

Dragon Quest Treasures

A completely new spinoff from the Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest Treasures explores the childhood of the siblings Mia and Erik from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. As Mia and Erik, players will embark on an RPG treasure hunting adventure in another world before the events of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.

Dragon Quest Keshi Keshi (Final Name TBC)

Developed with NHN PlayArt, this title is a free-to-play mobile puzzle game for iOS and Android devices that will feature popular Dragon Quest series characters, monsters and items as erasers which are used to erase graffiti in the game.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139..., the updated version of the Japan exclusive game NieR Replicant, is now available worldwide for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam.

NieR Replicant was originally released on 22 April 2010 in Japan for PlayStation 3 together with NieR Gestalt. In the West NieR Gestalt was released as Nier. Both games have a different storyline but takes place in the same world. NieR Replicant never got a release in the West untill now.

This updated version includes brand-new story content, extra dungeons, costumes and more, including:

  • Extra Episode – Players can enjoy a new scenario and exhilarating boss battle by playing through the game, in an all new “Mermaid” episode featuring a wrecked ship and a little girl.
  • Extra Dungeons from “15 Nightmares” – Previously released as downloadable content for the original release in Japan and similar to “The World of Recycled Vessel” content in the West, fans will be able to undertake a series of challenging dungeons as the “15 Nightmares” protagonist in the world of recycled vessel. The protagonist is a kind young man living in a remote village. In order to save his sister Yonah, who fell terminally ill to the Black Scrawl, he sets out with Grimoire Weiss, a strange talking tome, to search for the "Sealed verses."
