Square Enix recently held a broadcast called Special Program containing the future of Final Fantasy XV. In that broadcast Square Enix has announced that of the 4 DLC's, together titled The Dawn of the Future, 3 DLC's will be cancelled. Only Episode Ardyn will be released.
The reason for the cancellation of Episode Aranea, Episode Lunafreya and Episode Noctis is that Square Enix has decided to focus the development of Luminous Productions to large-scale, high-quality AAA game titles, which best leverages the Luminous strengths. This has resulted in an extraordinary loss of 3,733 million yen (~33 million dollars / ~26 million euro).
Also Square Enix has announced that Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV, has left the company. Here's the full departure letter:
Hello, this is Tabata.
It’s almost going to be two whole years since the release of Final Fantasy XV. I honestly believe the reason we were able to get this far is because of all you loyal fans. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Today, I have a personal announcement to make to all of you. I, Hajime Tabata, will be resigning from Luminous Productions and the Square Enix Group as of October 31, 2018.
I was able to gain so much experience with my time at Square Enix. Every title I was able to be a part of means a lot to me. However, Final Fantasy XV stood out from that group as it was a special project for me which I went all-in on.
Therefore, I decided to take this opportunity to officially announce my departure from Final Fantasy XV to all the fans who have supported the title across the globe.
In regards to my next endeavors and near future, I have a project that I truly wish to solidify as my next challenge after Final Fantasy XV. For that reason, I have decided to leave my current position and start my own business in order to achieve my goal.
As production of “Episode Ardyn” continues and Luminous Productions works on new projects, I felt that it was time for me to hand over the torch to the next generation group of talented and trustworthy colleagues and believe that they will create something amazing.
From this day on, I will cheer on and support Square Enix and Luminous Productions together with all of you fans.
I would like to thank everyone who continue to support Final Fantasy XV and those who have also supported myself personally.

Episode Ardyn is set before the events of Final Fantasy XV and will learn players more about Ardyn’s backstory in a story of death and restoration.Episode Ardyn will be released in March 2019.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima, the enchanced version of World of Final Fantasy released back in 2016, is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam.
World of Final Fantasy Maxima features an all-new Avatar Change system that allows players to add fan-favorite Final Fantasy champions — including Cloud, Yuna, Noctis and more — into their stacks to create more powerful and strategic battle options than ever before. The game also features new legendary characters and Mirages (monsters), side-quests, boss battles, mini-games, and a challenging new Nightmare difficulty mode.
If you want a physical version of World of Final Fantasy Maxima, it is only available for Xbox One. The digital version is available for Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. On PlayStation 4 and Steam the new content is available as downloadable content (DLC).

Last week The Last Remnant was removed from the Steam store without any reason. However today Square Enix has announced that The Last Remnant will be released on the PlayStation 4 as The Last Remnant Remastered.
The Last Remnant was originally released on the Xbox 360 back in 2008, almost 10 years ago, and is a turn-based RPG using Unreal Engine 3. The players controls Rush Sykes who is searching for his sister, who has been kidnapped by a mysterious organization during the war. The game received a mixed reception. The battle system was praised for being unique, massive-scale battles. Only the game had some technical issues.
In 2009 the game was ported to the PC. The PlayStation 3 version was also announced, but has been cancelled due to internal factors.
The PlayStation 4 version will not contain new content. All the features from the PC version will be present and also high-speed movement in the field will be available. The engine will be updated to Unreal Engine 4.
The Last Remnant Remastered will be released worldwide on 6 December 2018 for $20 / £16 / €20. Japan will receive a physical release, while North America and Europe only digital.

Square Enix has announced on Twitter that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will be released on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019 as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was originally released on the Nintendo GameCube back in 2003 and was the first Final Fantasy title released for a Nintendo console after Final Fantasy VI in 1994 for the Super Nintendo. This action RPG follows the story of a group adventurers traveling the world searching for rare trees which produce myrrh, used to fuel crystals protecting the world's settlements from the poisonous Miasma. The game also features a multiplayer option that allows up to 4 players join a local session that relies on the Game Boy Advance connected to the GameCube with a link cable.

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition, the mobile retelling of Final Fantasy XV, is now available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version will be coming soon.
In Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition, fans and newcomers alike can follow the journey of crown prince Noctis and his brothers in arms, Prompto, Ignis and Gladiolus, with fully voiced key event scenes and faithfully recreated battles. All of the treasured moments from Final Fantasy XV, like driving the Regalia across breathtaking landscapes, camping, Chocobo riding and more, can be experienced in a whole new way with the game’s creatively reimagined art style and in HD resolution.
With the mobile version it is free to play the first chapter. However if you want to play the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version you have to pay the full price of the game. PlayStation Plus members and Xbox One owners will receive a 40% discount till 13 September.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is now available worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Steam. It took more than one year to get an English translation of the game.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age follows the perilous journey of a hunted hero who must uncover the mystery of his fate with the aid of a charismatic cast of supporting characters. They embark on a quest taking them across continents and over vast oceans as they learn of an ominous threat facing the world.
The Western release delivers several upgrades and enhancements that are not in the Japanese versio, including:
English Voiceover
Draconian Quest, a hard mode that offers additional challenges for more experienced players.
Overhauled Menus & UI, with graphical enhancements and more intuitive navigation.
Camera Mode, allowing players to take in views of the beautiful landscape, character renders and ferocious monsters in detail.
A New Dash Function and many other system enhancements, such as improved character and camera movement
The game is still in development for the Nintendo Switch and was recently delayed due to the Unreal Engine that needs to be updated to support the Switch.

Square Enix has quietly announced that they will remove The Last Remnant from Steam. The RPG will no longer be available for purchase, but owners of the game can still download and play the game.
The Last Remnant is a turn-based RPG using Unreal Engine 3 and was originally released worldwide on the Xbox 360 back in 2008. One year later the game was ported to the PC with enhanced graphical settings, a "Turbo Mode" increasing battle speed, and a New Game Plus. The PlayStation 3 version however was cancelled.

Anyone already owning the game will still be able to play as per usual.

Today Gamescom 2018 has started for the press and tomorrow till Saturday it will be open for everyone that have a ticket (tickets for Wednesday and Thursday still available). Recently Square Enix has announced their line-up for this year.
Kingdom Hearts III
Attendees can share the magic of Kingdom Hearts III with two playable demos, a boss battle against the Rock Titan from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hercules and uncovering the Toy Box world from Toy Story alongside Woody and Buzz. Visitors can also take part in prime picture opportunities including a giant Keyblade and becoming a real life toy in a replica of Andy’s room from the Disney•Pixar classic Toy Story.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
The themes of Shadow of the Tomb Raider have their influence on the appearance of the Square Enix booth as well: the area is set up in the style of an imposing Mayan pyramid with numerous game stations. Visitors can get an even more intense feel for Lara Croft’s biggest adventure yet with a demo version of the action adventure.
Dragon Quest XI
At the Square Enix booth, RPG fans can also experience the all-new adventure in the timeless Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest XI with an extensive playable demo which showcases the many content improvements and brand-new voiceover ahead of the game’s release.
Life is Strange 2
Life is Strange 2 is coming to Gamescom 2018 as a world premiere. Not only will the development team share all the details about the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning and critically acclaimed Life is Strange – it will be playable for the first time at the Square Enix booth on the Gamescom show-floor.
Just Cause 4
This year, fans will also be treated to an exclusive presentation of Just Cause 4 at the Square Enix booth. Just Cause 4 takes the series’ incredible destruction and unique physics to a whole new level with the introduction of fully simulated tornadoes and other Extreme Weather events. Rico Rodriguez returns in Just Cause 4 with his trademark parachute, wingsuit and, of course his grapple hook, now enhanced with new functionality and fully customizable. Final Fantasy XIV

NieR: Automata Become as Gods Edition, the Xbox One version of the acclaimed RPG developed by PlatinumGames, is now available for download. This is 15 months after the release on the PlayStation 4 and PC, which in the meantime has sold over three million copies.
During Microsoft's Xbox E3 press conference it has been announced that NieR: Automata will be coming to Xbox One. At a lower price tag this version contains all the downloadable content:

Yesterday at the press conference of Square Enix, a new trailer was revealed of Kingdom Hearts III. Like the Frozen trailer, this trailer also starts with the Frozen world. However also new footage from the previously released Toy Story, Hercules and Tangled worlds is shown.
During Sony's PlayStation E3 press conference 2018 another trailer has been revealed of Kingdom Hearts III. This time Sora, Donald and Goofy are revisiting the Pirates of the Caribian world. Also footage from other world is shown.
Square Enix has also revealed that the game will get a deluxe edition and a bundle edition.
The deluxe edition contains an exclusive steelbook packaging, Mini art book with concept artwork by Tetsuya Nomura and a Collectible Kingdom Hearts III pin. It will be priced at $ 79.99 USD / € 89.99 EUR.
The bundle edition is the deluxe edition plus three Bring Arts figurines of Sora, Donald and Goofy. It will be available exclusively at the Square Enix Store in limited numbers and will be priced at $ 229.99 USD / € 229.99 EUR.
