Square Enix announces gamescom line-up

Square Enix has announced their games line-up for gamescom, a games trade fair in Cologne (Germany) that this year will take place from 13 till 17 August. This year Square Enix is focussing on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn with multiple booths that will be setup allowing 48 players to compete against Leviathan, Ramuh and Gilgamesh. On Saturday on 15:00 hours CEST a special head-to-head battle will be hosted between Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Ichiro Hazama, producer of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call. They will be using the new Versus Mode of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call.

PlayStation 4 release dates announced!

During the PlayStation gamescom 2013 press conference in Cologne Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 will be released in North America on 15 November and Europe will get it 2 weeks later on 29 November. Sony expects to launch the PlayStation 4 in 32 countries this holiday season. They also revealed that already 1,000,000 preorders have been made.

During the press conference Sony did also announce a price drop for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita which will be available for €199 / $199 each.

Square Enix has announced their line-up for gamescom, the largest trade fair for video games that takes place from 21 till 25 August in Cologne.

Final Fantasy VII

Final Fantasy VII downloable PC version now available

Just before the start of the gamescom Square Enix has launched the downloadable PC version of Final Fantasy VII in their store.

This 'enhanced' version of the original PC version, that was released back in 1998, features 36 achievements, cloud saving, character booster and is optimized to run on current PC's.

The downloadable version normally will cost € 12,99 / $ 11,99, but now has a special launch price of € 9,99 / $ 9,99 till 12 September. European fans can get the game here and United States fans here.

Square Enix has announced their line-up for this years gamescom taking place from 15 till 19 August in Cologne (Germany). This four-day-event is like the E3 in Los Angeles, only larger and is the world's largest games event.

No full presence Square Enix at gamescom this year

Gamescom, which is the world's largest games event, is currently taking place in Cologne Germany till this Sunday.

One of the big publishers that ar not fully present on the gamescom this year is Square Enix. They are only showing two games; Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Hitman: Absolution. So no Final Fantasy XIII-2 or Tomb Raider, not even a trailer.
