Today one of the best RPG's for the Super Nintendo has been released in Europe! I'm talking of course about Chrono Trigger. Originally released in 1995, the game never was released in Europe. Until today, a remake for the Nintendo DS is available.

The Nintendo DS has some extra features, like the animated movies by Akira Toriyama (mostly known from Dragon Ball Z), a beastiary and you can train your own monster.

Today Square Enix has announced that the remake of Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS will be released in Europe on 6th February 2009.

The original Super Nintendo game and PlayStation remake sadly never reached the European shores. This remake takes advantage of the Nintendo DS hardware and will feature a monster arena, a new ending and a couple of new dungeons.

Yesterday Square Enix has released the enhanced remake of Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS across North America! The game that was originally released for the Super Nintendo was among fans one of the best RPG's of that time.

The game has several new features like an Arena mode, new dungeons, touch screen and a new ending.

The game will be released in Europe for the first time (Super Nintendo and PlayStation version were never released there) in early 2009.

Square Enix has confirmed that the Nintendo DS remake of Chrono Trigger will be released in Europe and other PAL territories in early 2009 and will only be a few weeks behind the US holiday launch.

This is the first time Chrono Trigger will be available in Europe. The Super Nintendo version and the PlayStation version never got there.

Chrono Trigger DS will feature touch screen controls, a new dungeon and wireless play.

In the latest issue of the Japanese magazine Famitsu 4 new pages with screenshots from Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS were revealed. Most of the screenshots are the same as from the Super Nintendo version, but on some you see a small HP/MP bar under the characters. This must be because the Nintendo DS uses 2 screens (stats above, action below) and you can't see both of them at one time.
