Limit Breaks

Here you can find all the limit breaks of the characters.

¤ Squall

Squall's Limit Breaks are determined by his weapon. The better the weapon, the better the Limit Break. Squall first uses his Renzokuken attack, and after that he continues with one of the following Limit Breaks:

Rough Divide
Weapon Required: Revolver or better
Description: Squall finishes his Limit Break by charging at a single enemy and performing a rising slash
Fated Circle
Weapon Required: Shear Trigger or better
Description: After leading into the air Squall twirls his Gunblade and releases a shockwave of energy that hits all enemies
Blasting Zone
Weapon Required: Flame Saber or better
Description: A column of light shoots out of Squall's Gunblade, which he uses to crush his foes
Lion Heart
Weapon Required: Lion Heart
Description: Squall knocks a single enemy into the air, and the unleashes a devastating flurry of attacks

¤ Zell

Zell's Duel exist out of several moves. You have a certain amount of time to do as much damage as you can. You can set the game to do the moves automatically, or do the moves yourself. You can learn new moves from the various Combat King magazines that you can find in the game.

¤ Rinoa

Rinoa uses her dog Angelo for her Limit Breaks. Most of her Limit Breaks are obtained by reading the various Pet Pals magazines in the game. Some can be learned by letting Angelo learn it (Status Screen) and some are automatically obtained.

Angelo Rush
How to obtain: Initial Attack
Description:  Angelo comes running in from behind Rinoa and charges straight through the enemy. 'Angelo Rush' is an counter-attack move
Angelo Strike
How to obtain: Pet Pals Vol. 1
Description: Angelo comes running into battle, stops before the enemy, sniffs it, then leaps at it causing the enemy to go flying into the air. Angelo jumps up with it, spins it around and pushes the enemy back to the ground. Rinoa then gives Angelo a doggy biscuit, and it runs away
Angelo Recover
How to obtain: Pet Pals Vol. 2
Description: Cures party members
Angelo Cannon
How to obtain: Initial Attack
Description: Angelo comes running into battle, jumps onto Rinoa's Blaster Edge weapon and she fires Angelo at the enemy, thus creating an explosion. Angelo runs back to Rinoa, she gives him a doggy biscuit and he runs away
Invisible Moon
How to obtain: Pet Pals Vol. 3
Description: Angelo runs in with a doggy bone, leaps into the air and makes a silhouette on the moon. Light shines from Angelo onto all party members to make them invisible (no damage can be done in this state). Angelo then jumps back down, Rinoa takes the doggy bone and places it on Angelo's nose. Angelo flips the bone into the air, catches it in his mouth and then runs off

How to obtain: Pet Pals Vol. 4
Description: Revives Rinoa when fallen
Angelo Search
How to obtain: Pet Pals Vol. 5
Description: Random search of area for hidden items
Wishing Star
How to obtain: Pet Pals Vol. 6
Description: Rinoa jumps on Angelo and then attacks all enemies
Angelo Wings
How to obtain: When you get Rinoa after the Lunar Base you automatically get it
Description: Rinoa will 'grow' Angel Wings and she will rise into the air, and slowly land back onto the ground again. The game will then take over Rinoa's moves. Rinoa will cast a random magic on each turn

¤ Quistis

You will notice that there are items with the description 'Quistis can learn...'. These items are used to let Quistis learn her Limit Breaks.

¤ Selphie

Selphie's Limit Break 'Slots' simple exists of casting magic. She randomly displays a spell to cast (some more times), which you can choose to do over or cast. Next to normal magic, you can get the following spells:

Full Cure
Effect: Restores ALL of party's HP in battle
Wall
Effect: A wall rises casting Protect, Shell and Reflect on the party
Rapture
Effect: Wings appear on the back of the enemy, automatically removing it from battle (useless on flying enemies)
THE END
Effect: The battle screen turns into the field of grass you see Rinoa standing on in the intro. In the bottom left corner, the words 'The End' are written. This will remove any enemy from battle to obtain the victory. This is the most strongest move in the game

¤ Irvine

Irvine uses the various sorts of ammo u can find or refine in the game for his Limit Break 'Shot'. The better the ammo, the higher the damage. You got a certain amount of time to fire as much as you can.

Normal Shot
Bullet needed: Normal Ammo
Description: Irvine fires shotgun bullets at the enemy
Scatter Shot
Bullet needed: Shotgun Ammo
Description: Irvine fires grenade type bullets to hit all enemies with explosions
Dark Shot
Bullet needed: Dark Ammo
Description: Irvine fires bullets that can cast Darkness on the enemy
Flame Shot
Bullet needed: Fire Ammo
Description: Irvine fires bullets of fire at the enemy
Canistor Shot
Bullet needed: Demolition Ammo
Description: Irvine fires missiles at all opponents
Quick Shot
Bullet needed: Fast Ammo
Description: Irvine changes his gun to rapid fire, and hits the enemy in quick succession
Armor Shot
Bullet needed: AP Ammo
Description: Irvine fires bullets that can pierce armor
Hyper Shot
Bullet needed: Pulse Ammo
Description: Irvine fires bullets that cause Non-Elemental damage
