During the latest Nintendo Direct Square Enix has announced Octopath Traveler II, the next entry in the Octopath Traveler series. The game will be released on 24 February 2023 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
The first Octopath Traveler was released in 2018 on the Nintendo Switch. This RPG features a turn-based battle system and HD-2D visuals, a striking blend of retro 2D characters in a beautiful 3D world. The player starts the game by choosing one of the eight adventurers as the protagonist. Later the game was released on PC, Stadia and Xbox One and sold over 3 million copies.
Just like the first game, the trailer features eight new travelers: Hikari (Warrior), Agnea (Dancer), Partitio (Merchant), Osvald (Scholar), Throné (Thief), Temenos (Cleric), Ochette (Hunter), and Castti (Apothecary). A new gameplay feature is the day and night cycle, which will change the townscapes and Path Actions available to each character.

After being leaked last year from NVIDIA GeForce NOW and recently from the PlayStation Store, Square Enix has officially announced Tactics Ogre: Reborn, the remaster from the PlayStation Portable game Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. It will be released on 11 November 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
Tactics Ogre: Reborn is set in The Valerian Isles, jewels of the Obero Sea. Following many years of conflict, there finally rose a man to put an end to this: Dorgalua Oberyth. Known as the "Dynast-King,” he brought peace and prosperity to Valeria for half a century. After his death, a civil war erupts and throws the isles of Valeria into a bloody struggle for power between three warring factions. In Tactics Ogre: Reborn, players follow the story of a young man, Denam Pavel, caught in the center of the bloodshed. Although he seeks a path of freedom and justice, players will soon discover that even the noblest of goals requires impossibly difficult decisions to be made.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together was released in 1995 on the Super Famicom in Japan only. Later it was ported to the Sega Saturn and PlayStation. In 2010 it got a remake on the PlayStation Portable.

During the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration that was streamed last night Square Enix revealed that Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII will be remasted under the title Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is an action RPG that was released in 2007 on the PlayStation Portable and is the prequel to Final Fantasy VII. The game is part of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII and follows the original story of SOLDIER 1st Class Zack Fair on his mission to find missing SOLDIER Genesis Rhapsodos, unraveling the stories of Cloud, Sephiroth, Aerith, Tifa and more.
The announced new version features HD graphics, enhanced 3D-models, a fully voice-acted dialogue and a new arrangement for the soundtrack.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam this Winter. Below you can watch the announcement trailer.

During the latest Nintendo Direct Square Enix has announced that the first two Front Mission games will be getting a remake, both on Nintendo Switch, developed by Forever Entertainment. Front Mission 1st: Remake will be available this Summer and Front Mission 2 will follow later.
Front Mission was released on Super Nintendo in 1995 in Japan. It was later ported to WonderSwan Color, PlayStation and Nintendo DS. Only the Nintendo DS version was released outside of Japan.
In the year 2090, the world's conflicts are fought using giant war machines called Wanzers. Huffman Island, the only place where the Oceania Cooperative Union (O.C.U.) and the Unified Continental States (U.C.S.) share a land border is a hotbed of conflict.
An O.C.U. reconnaissance platoon led by Captain Royd Clive is assigned to investigate a U.C.S. munitions plant. They are ambushed by U.C.S. Wanzers, triggering a series of events that plunges the whole island into war. Royd's fiancée, Lieutenant Karen Meure, goes missing in action.
Discharged from the military, Royd sets out to investigate what happened to Karen. His quest leads him closer and closer to the conspiracy behind the incident and the powers that orchestrated it.

Square Enix has announced a brand new IP during Square Enix Presents Tokyo Game Show 2021 called Dungeon Encounters, a single-player dungeon explorarion RPG.
An otherworldly labyrinth has suddenly appeared on the outskirts of a quiet town. Make clever use of your abilities to chart the depths, overcome obstacles and defeat your foes in thrilling battles! During your expeditions, you'll discover rare and powerful items, meet lost adventurers who might just become new allies, and come face-to-face with deadly monsters. Do you have what it takes to overcome the numerous trials that await you and discover the dungeon's secrets?
The game is directed by Hiroyuki Ito, the creator of the Active Time Battle system in the Final Fantasy series. The producer is Hiroaki Kato (Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age). The characters are designed by Ryoma Ito and the soundtrack by Final Fantasy veteran Nobuo Uematsu.

In the latest Nintendo Direct Square Enix and Nintendo has announced that Triangle Strategy, previously known as Project Triangle Strategy, will be released on 4 March 2022 worldwide.
In February this year a debut demo was released that has been downloaded approximately 1 million times. Over 25,000 survey responses were sent to the development team that are currently making several adjustment to the final version of the game. Like you can now change the difficulty level of the battles. On Nintendo's website you can read the full article including the list of adjustments that are currently in development.
Triangle Strategy is a HD-2D tactical role playing game where three nations battle for control of the dwindling resources of salt and iron.
