Learning Spells
Learn new spells by clearing stages or completing certain tasks. Learned spells can be viewed by selecting the "Magic" command.
Casting Spells and MP
Spells can be cast any time as long as there are sufficient MP. Casting Spells with low MP cost decreases the charge gauge before the MP gauge. Casting spells with high MP cost decreases the MP gauge first.
Upgrading Spells
Spells grow more poweful once you've cleared key events or defeated certain enemies. Their MP cost remains the same.
Magic
Fire: Unleashes a fireball.
Fira: Unleashes a potent fireball.
Firaga: Unleashes an incredible fireball.
Blizzard: Unleashes ice crystals.
Blizzara: Unleashes ice crystals. Longer range than Blizzard.
Blizzaga: Unleashes ice crystals. Longest range.
Thunder: Calls down lightning.
Thundara: Calls down powerful lightning storm.
Thundaga: Calls down an incredible storm of lightning.
Cure: Restores character's HP.
Cura: Restores character's HP a lot.
Curaga: Restores a massive amount of HP to one character.
Gravity: Takes off a small percentage of HP from the target. Effective against enemies with lots of HP.
Gravira: Takes off a medium percentage of HP from the target. Wider area of effect than Gravity.
Graviga: Takes off a large percentage of HP from the target. Wider area of effect than Gravira.
Stop: Prevents target from taking action for a limited time.
Stopra: Prevents target from taking action for a limited time. Wide area of effect.
Stopga: Prevents target from taking action for a limited time. Widest area of effect.
Aero: Deploys a barrier that absorbs damage.
Aerora: Deploys a barrier that absorbs damage. Damages enemies on contact.
Aeroga: Deploys a barrier that absorbs damage. Deflects certain attacks.

Traverse Town: Defeat Guard Armor (Fire)
Agrabah: Defeat Jafar (2nd time)(Fira)
Hollow Bastion: Seal keyhole (Firaga)
Blizzard magic:
Wonderland:collect 4 evidence or seal keyhole (Blizzard)
Agrabah: defeat Jafar (1st time) (Blizzara)
Olympus Coliseum: defeat Behemoth in Hades Cup (Blizzaga)
Thunder magic:
Olympus Coliseum: Complete barrel challenge (Thunder)
Atlantica: Defeat Ursula (2nd time) (Thundara)
Olympus Coliseumdefeat Cerberus in Hades Cup (Thundaga)
Cure magic:
Deep Jungle: Defeat Clayton (Cure)
Neverland: Automatically obtained on ship deck (Cura)
Hollow Bastion: Talk to Aerith in the Library (Curaga)
Gravity magic:
Olympus Coliseum: Win Phil Cup (Gravity)
Halloween Town: Seal keyhole (Gravira)
Olympus Coliseum: Defeat Hades in Hades Cup (Gravirga)
Stop magic:
Monstro: defeat Parasite Cage (2nd time) (Stop)
Hundred Acre Wood: Complete Pooh's Swing mini game by finding Eeyore's tail, and the Torn Page will turn into the spell upgrade. (Stopra)
Neverland: defeat Phantom (Stoppaga)
Aero magic:
Traverse Town: Defeat Opposite Armor (Aero)
Neverland: Use yellow trinity and open the treasure chest on the shelf. (Aerora)
Traverse Town: Rescue all 99 Dalmatian puppies and collect the spell upgrade from Pongo and Perdita. (Aerorga)
