On May 9th 2006, Final Fantasy XIII has been officialy announced at Square Enix's pre-E3 conference. To celebrate Final Fantasy's 13th title, Square Enix has started a huge project called 'Fabula Nova Crystallis' (that's Latin for 'the new tale of the crystal') that will cover various content on multiple platforms.

Final Fantasy XIII
This will be the first installment of the Final Fantasy series on the PlayStation 3. The game runs on the engine called "The White Enige" which was originally for the PlayStation 2. The story will focus on "Those who resist the world."

Final Fantasy Versus XIII
The versus title will be an action based Final Fantasy title that will be made by the Kingdom Hearts team for the PlayStation 3.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII
A mobile game will also be released.
