Nomura talks about Final Fantasy X HD and Versus XIII
Submitted by Zidane007nl on 18 January 2012, 20:49Famitsu managed to score an interview with Tetsuya Nomura to ask about the process of a couple of games that are currently in development: Final Fantasy X HD, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Kingdom Hearts 3D and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.
About Final Fantasy X HD Nomura didn't had much to say about, only that the development on the game has started.
He was more open about Final Fantasy Versus XIII, saying the following:
- Nomura recently did the latest check of the game. The visual expression capability has improved from the trailer that was released last year.
- The game has a mix of real time and Visual Works pre-rendered CG. The ratio is 7 real time to 3 pre rendered.
- The scene where Noctus and Stella meet for the first time has been made into a pre-rendered scene. This is because it's an example of an area where adding player control would not have a big effect.
- Square Enix won't be holding an event ala last year's January press conference this year. However, Nomura said that he'd like to make some sort Versus related announcement/showing this year, although he can't say when or where.
- The next time we see Versus XIII, we will get a look at it being controlled on actual hardware.
Regarding Kingdom Hearts 3D he said that the ending of the game is unconventional to the series and that the original idea was not approved. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will be getting a second demo.
20/01 Update: Famitsu has mentioned that Square Enix's 1st Production Department is going to develop Final Fantasy X HD.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Xbox 360
Submitted by Zidane007nl on 1 April 2011, 18:37Square Enix has announced today that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will no longer be an exclusive on the PlayStation 3, but also on the Xbox 360.
"Since Final Fantasy XIII was a big success on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, we want Final Fantasy Versus XIII to become the same.
When Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be released is unknown.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII & Agito TGS 2010 trailer released!
Submitted by Zidane007nl on 8 October 2010, 22:50Square Enix has released the Tokyo Game Show trailer of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII on the Japanese members website, which requires to be logged in. Some people were kind enough to rip it and place it on YouTube. Since it might be taken down by Square Enix, I've uploaded the video to the website.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII TGS trailer cam footage!

In the trailer you see the main character, a young man with black hair, running through several abandoned areas and in the city he battles a big behemoth.
Let's hope Square Enix will make this trailer public in the near future, since it looks promising.

"Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Agito won't be released for ages"
Submitted by Zidane007nl on 9 August 2010, 14:05According to Tetsuya Nomura, who revealed explosive information about his other projects Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII on twitter, the two games won't be released for ages.
"There are a number of unannounced titles. These will come before Agito and Versus. Some have finished voice recording. Announcements will take place in Japan."
This means the games will not be seen at the Gamescom that will take place next week. Square Enix only shows The 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. But they might appear on the Tokyo Game Show next month.
He also said the following about Final Fantasy Versus XIII:
"Versus has had many difficulties, and past method of production have been completely inapplicable, but these are the difficulties of birth, so we are working hard. We have a lot to announce, but because we're going in order, I can't say too much yet."
By "order" he means promotion of the games in order of release.
"There have been many questions regarding fields. It's not a completely open world. It's like the 2D FF games in HD. Although, in terms of looks, it's not a top-down view, it's like the screenshots that have been released. You'll move through the world from that view."
Nomura also touched briefly upon development progress for both Agito and Versus.
"Agito and Versus have different production styles and progress states, but they're both presently undergoing voice casting. 3rd's recording will end shortly. Next up is Agito."

A:Yes it’s an image in real-time using the real hardware. We aim to improve the quality you’re seeing now even further. As of now we can’t share more details in full scale right now, so we removed the menus and subscreens where it shows Noctis expression (image projected on the subscreen).Q: Were the party members also there originally?
A: Yes, we removed because we haven’t formally announced their weapons and clothes yet.Q: The exquisiteness and shades are like a photograph taken from real life.

Kingdom Hearts III after Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Submitted by Zidane007nl on 25 March 2010, 23:47It looks like Square Enix already is busy developing the third part of the Kingdom Hearts series. The Japanese guide book of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep contains an interview with producer Tetsuya Nomura who says that the game will be developed further after Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been released.
Nomura also said that this won't be the last game in the Kingdom Hearts series and that we don't have to say goodbye to Sora.

Also the full names of two characters from Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been released: Noctis Lucis Caelum and Stella Nox Fleuret.
