Square Enix has announced that they will release Final Fantasy XI Edition 2007 for Windows on March 30th. The edition will include all expansion packs (Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia and Treasures of Aht Urhgan). Players can play the game in German and French now by changing the language in PlayOnline.

Square Enix will release the second collection of Final Fantasy XI, called the Vana'diel Collection 2007, for Windows on November 7th for only $29,99 USD. In the collection package you'll find the original game plus the three expansions (Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, and Treasures of Aht Urhgan) on one DVD. Also included are an exclusive fold-out map of Vana'diel with mini walkthroughs to help new players get started and a Vana'diel Buddy Pass to invite a friend to try Final Fantasy XI free for 30 days.

If the collection will also be available in Europe is unknown.

Square Enix has announced today that they have suspended or permanently removed 1,400 accounts from Final Fantasy XI because of using third-party tools, which is a violation of the user agreement.

Third-party tools will destroy the balance of the game and encourange RMT (real money trading) activities. Square Enix will continue to strict actions against those individuals that they have confirmed to have used such tools.

In the recent update Chocobo Raising has become available for Final Fantasy XI players! This new feature can let adventures create care plans and raise their own chocobo. Square Enix has postponed the Chocobo Raising from today's version update of Final Fantasy XI. The system has now been sheduled to be in the update of August 22nd.

Also the continuation of the Treasures of Aht Urhgan storyline has been postponed and is now sheduled to be in the update of August 2nd.

According to Nikkei.net yesterday a sequel is in the works to the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI. It will be released on PS3, XBox 360 and Windows Vista.

Today Square Enix has denied that rumor of a Final Fantasy XI sequel. They told that the new MMORPG Square Enix is making will be completely different and original. Details and compatible system will be announced soon.

Square Enix has redesigned their official Final Fantasy XI website. The new layout has a better look, readability and navigation. They plan on updating and/or revising the content in feature.

Square Enix has announced that soon they will introduce The Final Fantasy XI Linkshell Community Beta Version. This allows you to communicate with members from your linkshell from any internet connection.

Some tools that will be provided are that Linkshell members have access to an exclusive message board, an up-to-date list of current member information, a search feature and a list of recently formed linkshells for each individual World.

According to the Final Fantasy XI development team the chocobo raising system, that was announced at the FINAL FANTASY XI Fan Festival 2006 in Santa Monica, will be included in the next version update.

This update will let the players raise their own chocobo. Also when your chocobo is fully grown you can match it with your friend's chocobo.

UbiSoft has announced that they will be releasing Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan for the PC and Final Fantasy XI for the Xbox 360 on April 20th in Europe. Treasures of Aht Urhgan is the 3rd expansion next to Chains of Promathia and Rise of Ziliart.
